How do Udacity hiring partnerships work?

At Udacity, our goal is to make the connection between learning and jobs as direct—and as meaningful—as possible. We works closely with industry leaders such as ZEISS, Jaguar Land Rover or Audi to create our project-based learning programs. These unique collaborations ensure that students learn the technology skills that employers value most. Udacity’s hiring partners list which roles are open along with the role’s requirements. Udacity then puts qualified students and and graduates in touch with select talent managers.

One anecdote from SAP’s founding story…
In 1972, five entrepreneurs had a vision for the business potential of technology. With a client and a handful of employees, SAP has embarked on a path that not only changed the world of IT, but also the way companies do business.

We interviewed a great candidate from abroad. She was very modest in terms of salary expectations. Since she convinced us with her abilities and her personality, we were happy to submit an offer that exceeded her expectations by far. We also paid her for moving to Germany. It was an event that brought great joy not only to her, but also to us!

Is a computer science degree a must for candidates applying to SAP?
No, even though SAP as a software company requires an IT degree for most of the vacancies, we are still looking for software developers with relevant experience and a strong willingness to learn.

How does SAP differ from other industry leaders when it comes to finding and hiring talent?
Among others, SAP is committed to the diversity areas of culture and identity, networking, women in leadership, people with disabilities, generations and gender equality.

Now it’s your turn to rant: What do you never want to read in an application ever again?
The identity card number, the profession of the parents and spelling mistakes do not belong in the curriculum vitae. In addition, the cover letter and CV should be uploaded as PDF files to avoid changes in the presentation. Similarly, experiences that are not relevant to the position should not be included. All in all, the application documents should be complete, i.e. they should include a curriculum vitae, cover letter and relevant supporting documents (certificates, etc.).
